The Panasonic KX-TA824 Phone System is designed to be a replacement/upgrade to the long-time solid performing KX-TA624 system. Every phone that works with the KX-TA624 also works with the KX-TA824.

The Panasonic KX-TA824 is a plug-and-play phone system, meaning that when you turn it on out of the box it functions and you have incoming and outgoing phone calls.  You can program this phone system by either connecting a computer through a USB and programming via the GUI (basically a fancy way of saying through a computer interface) OR through the phone (only extension 101).  Programming this system is no big deal, but if you add the KX-TVA50 Voice Mail Unit, programming can be a bit tricky and you may want us to Pre-Program the system for you.

This phone system comes configured out of the box to handle 3 incoming phone lines from the phone company and 8 phones.  Caller ID comes in on the first 3 lines (remember that you get caller ID from the phone company, the system just facilitates it).

If you want caller ID on more than 3 phone lines, get the KX-TA82493 Caller ID card.

If you add the KX-TA82470, it will add 8 extensions (the ability to add 8 phones).

If you add the KX-TA82481, it will add 2 incoming phone lines and 8 extensions.

If you add the KX-TA82483, it will add 3 incoming phone lines and 8 extensions.

The KX-TA824 will grow up to 8 incoming lines and 24 extensions (so you would need the KX-TA82481 and KX-TA82483 to max out the system).

The Panasonic KX-TA824 is compatible with door bells that have intercom and door-opening capabilities (you need a door strike for door-opening capabilities).  When somebody rings the doorbell (KX-T30865 or KX-T7775), you can answer through the phone, and if you have the door strike you can press a button to let them in.  You can also dial a code to open the door without even talking through the intercom.

This phone system works with either the KX-T7700 series propietary phones below, OR single line telephones (regular non system telephones) and pass caller ID to them both!
